Hello, I’m Diana Nightingale, and I’d like to share with you "who we are", and the purpose for this web site.
When my husband, Earl Nightingale, retired from the company he co-founded in 1960, he was eager to begin again to refresh his early work and make it available to present and future generations. Exactly how we were going to do that was still in the planning stages when one day, Earl and I were having a discussion about education. I told Earl that it is too bad that, in general, people have negative attitudes regarding education, and that in "my perfect world", little children would be told at an early age what an exciting adventure lay ahead for them. That, over the next years they would learn many wonderful things, and that each new piece of information would be like getting a "key" that will open doors to many opportunities. I said that when young people leave school, they should have, "a pocketful of keys"™, which will take them through the doorways to the rest of their lives. Without keys to open doors, without an education, they will be confined to live lives that are limited and unfulfilled.
Earl, loved my story and from that discussion, we formed Keys Publishing around the name, with our mission statement: "Unlocking doors through education".™ We went on to write a young people’s program that we called, "A Pocket full of Keys", and began creating many new programs, so of which are just now, being released .
In 1989, Earl passed away following heart surgery, but before entering the hospital, asked me to make him a promise that I would continue the work and keep his messages alive. As his widow, I have endeavored to find every possible way to keep my promise to him, and this web site helps me to do just that!
Today, you will find many web sites where authors, speakers and unknown entities make claims about knowing Earl, or having his blessing about their usage of his works - - but this is the only web site that was created with Earl Nightingale’s blessing and desire.
In 1956, Earl wrote and recorded, on a record, The Strangest Secret. It was intended for a handful of insurance salesmen to listen to, while Earl was away on a trip. When the men heard the message, each wanted one. Each in turn, shared it with others who also wanted to have a copy. Much to Earl’s surprise, without any advertising or marketing of The Strangest Secret, sales soared and soon, he had received a Gold Record - the only Gold Record ever to be earned by a spoken word recording.
More than fifty years later, the Original Gold Record Recording of The Strangest Secret, by Earl Nightingale, continues to sell. Imitations of, The Strangest Secret, and variations of his, Secret, have been made, and are sold by other people who have no, and have never had a, connection to Earl, and without permission from his estate. Many, quote his work without permission and fail to give credit to him as the author, which is an injustice to Earl and his work, but more importantly, to you, the one seeking accurate information about Earl, his life and his work.
This web site is "pure Nightingale". No liberties are taken with Earl’s work. It is the only, Official site, the only sanctioned site for his work and is dedicated to keeping his profound works alive!
I am an author, an internationally known speaker, a life coach and mentor to people around the world. Through my writing, coaching, speaking and private retreats, I am dedicated to the memory, the works and my promise to my beloved, Earl, to "carry the torch" and light the path of those who follow.
